Happy holidays 2009

Hi everyone, so sorry for not updating for such a long time. I have a new job which takes up a lot of my time. I’m also sorry to say that I might not be able to update as much as I used to in the months to come either.

Anyway, here’s a quick recap of all Laura news of the last couple of months:
- Laura attended the Outfest Legacy Awards in LA at the end of September. Here are some photos:

- In early December Laura started rehearsals for the play Time Stands Still, opening on Broadway on January 5th, 2010. Her co-stars are Eric Bogosian, Brian D’Arcy James and Alicia Silverstone. Visit the Manhattan Theatre Club website for more information.

- The directorial debut of Mark Ruffalo, Sympathy for Delicious is to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January, and is also running in the US Dramatic Competition 2010. Laura’s co-stars include Mark Ruffalo, Orlando Bloom and Juliette Lewis.

- In November, Laura shot the pilot for a potentional Showtime prime time drama series The C Word in which she plays a suburban mom, diagnosed with cancer, who tries to find the humor in the disease. Her husband is played by Oliver Platt. The decision on whether the series will be taken on by Showtime is expected in mid January.

Telluride Filmfestival 2009

For the 5th time this year Laura Linney is attending the Telluride Filmfestival where, 5 years ago, she met her now-husband Marc Schauer. She attended a couple of events so far, photos are in the gallery, enjoy!

The Other Man screencaptures

I was able to get my hands on the Russion version of The Other Man and added screencaptures to the gallery. Be aware of the spoilers ahead though, they are quite telling when it comes to the big twist in the plot. Enjoy!

Laura and Marc are married

I’m happy to inform you that Laura and Marc are indeed married.
They tied the knot on May 2nd in Connecticut and, according to this article, Tom Hanks was amongst the wedding guests.
Laura and Marc Schauer, a real estate agent from Telluride, met in 2004 during the Telluride Filmfestival where he was her personal host for the week. Watch this interview where she talks about her engagement back in 2007.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
Thanks a lot to Mandy who found it mentioned in the school bulletin of St Ignatius College Prep School, Chicago, from which Marc graduated in 1986.

We all thought The City Of Your Final Destination would go straight into the archives, but turns out Merchant Ivory are gearing up for a 2009 release, finally! And the first still has appeared online, too.

Concerning Laura’s upcoming projects, there’s news on The Details which was put on hold last month: Shooting is to recommence in August, but due to a scheduling conflict James McAvoy has dropped out and was replaced by Tobey Maguire. Sad news for McAvoy fans such as myself, I would’ve loved to see them both play together.
