I found this, not necessarily very reliable, article from last month saying Laura has married her boyfriend of 5 years, Marc Schauer. It hasn’t been confirmed by her management though, so let’s take it with a tiny pinch of salt.

Sources tell us that actress Laura Linney also married her sweetheart, real estate agent Marc Schauer, this weekend just outside of New York. Tom Hanks reportedly helped celebrate the couple’s nuptials. mylifetime.com

During the Cannes Filmfestival there was a market screening of The City of Your Final Destination, the 2007 film which stars Laura alongside names like Sir Anthony Hopkins and Charlotte Gainsbourg, but sadly wasn’t picked up for either international or American domestic release. I posted the full review at the press centre.

More bad news, looks like the filming of The Details has been shut down for the time being. Filming only started the other week in Seattle.

“The production of THE DETAILS is currently on hold due to unforeseen circumstances. We look forward to resuming business in Seattle shortly as this community is the perfect home for the movie.” The Daily Weekly

On a happier note, I found this in a recent interview with actress Kyra Sedgwick:

Sedgwick hopes to build the staying power of the likes of Meryl Streep and Laura Linney.
“I look at Laura Linney, and I feel encouraged,” Sedgwick says. “Laura’s got a career that has spanned two decades, and she’s done so many different kinds of films. I would like to cultivate something like that for myself.” variety.com

Good news, fellow LL fans, you’re gonna like this! The Other Man has been picked up for cinematic release in several European countries. In France it’s been showing since May 27th, other countries are following soon: Greece – 2 July 2009, Netherlands – 17 September 2009, Belgium – 23 September 2009.

Luckily, for us this means new posters, more stills, a trailer (with French subtitles) and some preview clips.

Today Laura was awarded the title of honorary Doctor of Fine Arts by the Juilliard School, from which she graduated in 1990, during their 104th commencement in Alice Tully Hall, New York City. She’s making us fans proud, well done!
